Starting Out

When you are starting out homeschooling, there are specific steps you have to take. Each school district has its procedures and requirements, so check with them about those. The basic requirement include your letter of intent with your children's names, ages, and grades, the calendar with the quarterly reports schedules, and vacations, the curriculum you intend to use, and a syllabus for each subject. Then if approved by the school district you are et to homeschool, following the exact school plan you sent to the district. If your plan is not approved, the school district will require further information and documentation which they will clarify for you.
